Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position in Alabama, requiring strong cardiac monitoring skills and an AL or compact RN license.

Responsibilities

• PCU/Stepdown unit in a hospital setting
• Patient population includes cardiac and telemetry cases requiring close monitoring
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30)
• Every other weekend (EOW) requirement
• Floating to Med/Surg units required
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates are considered; candidates residing within a 60-mile radius of the facility are eligible at the local pay rate
• All RTO requests must be submitted at the time of contract confirmation — no RTO will be approved after the contract is confirmed
• Schedules cannot be adjusted once a contract is confirmed; per diem schedules or other contracts will not be accommodated

Requirements

• Active AL RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
• Current certifications: BLS and ACLS
• Prior experience in MS/Telemetry, Telemetry, and PCU/Stepdown settings required
• Strong cardiac monitoring and emergency response skills required
• Must be able to start IVs, manage Heparin protocols, and manage cardiac drips (no titration)
