Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position in a clinic setting in New Mexico, requiring at least 2 years of specialty experience and a minimum of one prior travel assignment.

Responsibilities

• Position is based in a clinic setting serving a rural community in New Mexico
• Floating between departments and/or local clinic locations within 20 miles is required
• 8-hour day shifts, 5 days per week
• 40 hours per week
• Utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document individualized patient care
• Coordinates care through collaboration with patients, families, and the broader healthcare team
• Administers medications and treatments as prescribed and documents per policy
• Responsible for identifying patient and family education needs from admission through discharge
• Provides clinical supervision to LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel
• Epic EMR experience preferred; on-site training is available
• Former permanent staff of Presbyterian Health Services must wait one year before being considered as a traveler

Requirements

• Active RN license in New Mexico or a Compact State currently in hand
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross required
• Minimum of 2 years of current Med/Surg nursing experience required
• At least one completed 13-week travel assignment required
• Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN or ASN) required
• Must be a team player, flexible, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment
• English proficiency required (speak, read, write)
• Candidate must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
