Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced travel RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position requiring prior travel experience, charge nurse experience, and Epic proficiency in an upstate New York hospital setting.

Details

• Med/Surg Telemetry unit in a hospital setting
• 12-hour night shifts on a rotating schedule: 3x12s one week, alternating with 3x12s plus one 8-hour shift the following week
• Minimum every other weekend required, with schedule adjusted to meet unit and patient care needs
• No block scheduling available
• Epic EMR is used on this unit
• 16-week contract with potential extension up to 32 weeks

Requirements

• Active NY RN license required; proof of pending application with applied date is acceptable
• Active VT RN license not required at time of consideration; candidates without VT licensure will be accepted
• Current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIHSS certification required prior to start
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Charge nurse experience required; candidate will be expected to perform in a charge capacity regularly
• Epic experience within the past 2 years required (non-negotiable)
• Two professional references from a Nurse Manager and/or Supervisor required — at least one from within the past 6 months and one from within the past year of employment
• SSN and DOB required for consideration
• Reliable personal or rental vehicle required; public transportation is not accessible in this area
• Vehicle equipped with all-season or snow tires required during November through April

Additional Information

• Candidate will regularly perform in a charge nurse capacity
• This is an interview-to-offer (ITO) position
• Bi-weekly orientations are held on Mondays
• All employment gaps over 90 days must be explained in work history
• Complete work history is required, including bed count, EMR, and facility type for each position
• Candidates applying for or committed to a NY license should be aware that NY licensing typically takes 6–8 weeks; this will be taken into consideration for start date and offer timing
