Job Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an LDRP position requiring a minimum of 2 years of L&D, postpartum, and special care nursery experience, with night shift availability and weekend commitment.

Responsibilities

• Work setting is a combined LDRP and mother-baby unit with 3 LDRs, 5 postpartum rooms, 4 triage rooms, a recovery area, and an OR suite
• Patient care spans antepartum, labor and delivery (vaginal and cesarean), immediate postpartum, mother-baby, well newborn, and special care nursery
• Newborn care may include initial stabilization, CPAP, PIV access, IV fluids and antibiotics, hyperbilirubinemia and hypoglycemia management, and stabilization for transport to a tertiary care center
• Staffing ratios follow AWHONN guidelines
• Charting is computerized; other equipment includes Pyxis, central electronic fetal monitoring, and Alaris IV smart pumps
• Schedule is nights, 7p–7a, 12-hour shifts with self-scheduling
• 2 weekends per month required
• On-call is not currently required but may be added based on departmental needs
• Floating may occur to the medical floor or ER to assist with basic tasks only — no patient load assumed on those units
• Responsibilities include RN care across labor and delivery, postpartum, and special care nursery, including NRP resuscitation of newborns in the delivery room
• Two-day orientation covers the EMR system, workflow processes, and supplies
• Candidates with a permanent address within 50 miles of the facility are not eligible for this position
• When scheduled over holidays, 2 holiday shifts are required
• Scrubs are provided by the facility
• Visible tattoos are not permitted; body jewelry must be removed during working hours, with the exception of ear lobe studs

Requirements

• Active WY or compact RN license required
• Current certifications required: BLS, NRP, and Intermediate AWHONN Fetal Monitoring
• Minimum 2 years of experience in L&D, postpartum, and special care nursery
• 2 references required for consideration: 1 from a supervisor within the last 12 months of relevant experience, and 1 from a peer or supervisor in the same specialty within the last 3 years
• Copies of certifications and license verification required for consideration
