Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a night shift position at a Magnet-designated acute care hospital in California, with Epic experience required and first-time travelers welcome.

Responsibilities

• Position is based in the ICU/PCU unit of a 377-bed Magnet-designated acute care hospital
• Patient ratio is 1:3
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:00)
• Every other weekend required
• Floating within skillset required, including between all facilities within the state
• No on-call requirements
• Epic EMR experience required
• Free parking available on-site
• Scrubs may be any color
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates are accepted
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must not reside within 50 miles of the facility
• All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed at the time of submission — requests made after submission or offer may be denied
• Refusal to float between facilities may result in assignment termination

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required (no pending licenses accepted)
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale, and LA Fire Card
• Minimum 1 year of ICU/PCU nursing experience required
• Epic EMR proficiency required
• At least 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting required for consideration
• SSN and DOB required for consideration
