Job Description

American Traveler is hiring a CT or compact licensed RN for a Cardiac ICU nights position at a large Level I Trauma Center, requiring critical care experience with PA catheters and a commitment to 4x12-hour night shifts.

Responsibilities

• Cardiac ICU unit within a large, short-term acute care hospital with over 1,500 staffed beds
• Level I Trauma Center and academic medical center environment
• Patient population requires critical care management, including PA catheter monitoring
• Average patient ratio of 1:2 on days, nights, and weekends
• Night shift schedule: 4x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:00
• Floating required to ICU and PCU
• No on-call required
• Charting via Epic EMR
• Parking is available at a cost of approximately $125/month
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Former permanent staff must have been separated for at least 2 years before being considered as a traveler
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted for this position
• Up to 7 days of RTO may be auto-approved by the facility
• Travelers are expected to participate in natural disaster or emergency response activities as needed

Requirements

• Active CT or compact RN license required
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 1.5 years of ICU experience required if coming from a Level I Trauma Center or large hospital
• Critical care experience with PA catheters required
• Trauma center experience at a large facility required
• No prior disciplinary actions on nursing license
• Flu vaccine required; declinations are not accepted
• COVID vaccine required; religious or medical exemptions accepted
• One professional reference required for consideration
