Job Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry (MS/Tele) night shift position requiring at least 1 year of experience and an active Maryland or Compact RN license.

Responsibilities

• 30-bed MS/Tele observation unit with a high daily census and quick patient turnover
• Patient population includes chest pain, abdominal pain, UTI, renal (peritoneal dialysis), and trauma/orthopedic cases
• Patient ratio is 1:5-6 with lower acuity patients
• Peritoneal dialysis exchanges are initiated by dialysis nurses; MS/Tele RNs are responsible for clamping/unclamping and documentation of exchanges
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30)
• Every other weekend required (4 weekends per 4-week schedule cycle)
• Holiday coverage required as scheduled
• Floating required within the specialty and to lower acuity areas as needed, including a sister facility in Chestertown (typically rare)
• No on-call requirements
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Royal blue scrubs required
• Any time-off requests must be disclosed upfront at the time of consideration

Requirements

• Active Maryland (MD) or Compact RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
• CPI certification required (onboarding available on-site)
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
