Job Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a fast-paced Medical Surgical unit, requiring prior surgical experience and availability to work every other weekend on nights.

Responsibilities

• Fast-paced inpatient surgical unit in a hospital setting
• Patient population includes general surgery, abdominal surgery, urological surgery, orthopedic surgery, hysterectomy, mastectomy, spine surgery, and bariatric surgery cases
• Pediatric surgical patients aged 12 and above may be assigned depending on surgical procedure
• Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend required
• Block scheduling is not guaranteed, but shift grouping will be attempted when possible
• 13-week contract
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Two professional references required for consideration
• A copy of your driver's license and Social Security card are required for consideration
• Holiday coverage is expected: if one holiday falls within the assignment, plan to work it; if two holidays, plan to work one; if three, plan to work two
• Any requested time off must be disclosed upfront prior to placement

Requirements

• Active RN license — VA or compact license required; pending licenses not accepted
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Prior surgical nursing experience required
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
