Job Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a high-acuity Surgery Trauma unit at a Level 1 trauma center, requiring a minimum of 2 years of specialty experience and Epic proficiency.
Responsibilities
- Position is on Unit 6B - Surgery Trauma within a high-acuity, inner-city Level 1 trauma center
- Patient population includes spinal, neuro, trauma, and surgical cases, as well as gunshot wounds, quadriplegics, and paraplegics
- Patient ratio is 5:1
- Unit support includes nursing techs, phlebotomists, and a unit secretary on night shifts
- ED nurses complete a handoff to the admitting unit at the time of patient transfer
- 12-hour day shifts, 3 shifts per week
- Travelers are expected to work 4 weekend shifts per month
- Block scheduling is not available — must be willing to work assigned shifts
- No on-call requirements
- Epic EMR is required
- This facility is a high-acuity, inner-city Level 1 trauma center managing complex, high-volume trauma cases
- Candidates with experience limited to small or low-volume hospitals are not likely to be considered
- No RTO (time off requests) will be approved during the contract
- Local candidates are accepted for this position
Requirements
- Active RN license — Georgia (GA) or Compact license required
- Current BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
- Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg or Surgery Trauma specialty experience required
- Experience in high-acuity, high-volume hospital environments with complex and severe cases required
- Epic EMR proficiency required
