Job Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a high-acuity Surgery Trauma unit at a Level 1 trauma center, requiring a minimum of 2 years of specialty experience and Epic proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Position is on Unit 6B - Surgery Trauma within a high-acuity, inner-city Level 1 trauma center
• Patient population includes spinal, neuro, trauma, and surgical cases, as well as gunshot wounds, quadriplegics, and paraplegics
• Patient ratio is 5:1
• Unit support includes nursing techs, phlebotomists, and a unit secretary on night shifts
• ED nurses complete a handoff to the admitting unit at the time of patient transfer
• 12-hour day shifts, 3 shifts per week
• Travelers are expected to work 4 weekend shifts per month
• Block scheduling is not available — must be willing to work assigned shifts
• No on-call requirements
• Epic EMR is required
• This facility is a high-acuity, inner-city Level 1 trauma center managing complex, high-volume trauma cases
• Candidates with experience limited to small or low-volume hospitals are not likely to be considered
• No RTO (time off requests) will be approved during the contract
• Local candidates are accepted for this position

Requirements

• Active RN license — Georgia (GA) or Compact license required
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg or Surgery Trauma specialty experience required
• Experience in high-acuity, high-volume hospital environments with complex and severe cases required
• Epic EMR proficiency required
