Job Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a high-acuity Step-Down/ICU position requiring at least 1 year of ICU experience and an active NJ RN license.

Responsibilities

• High-acuity Step-Down Unit (SDU) in a hospital setting
• Night shift schedule: 7p–7a, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hrs/week)
• 13-week contract
• Charting performed in Epic (experience expected)
• Floating to a nearby sister hospital may be required
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
• Travelers who have reached one cumulative year on assignment must take a break before returning; contact your recruiter for details
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments across the age continuum from pediatric to geriatric populations
• Provide direct patient care in alignment with national patient safety goals, including universal protocol and dual patient identification
• Maintain accurate and thorough nursing documentation, including patient education and progress toward care outcomes
• Demonstrate proficiency with emergency equipment and procedures relevant to a high-acuity environment

Requirements

• Active NJ RN license (or Compact license applicable in NJ) required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of ICU experience required
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing; Associate's or Bachelor's Degree preferred
• Two professional references required for consideration
