Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an MRI Technologist with 2+ years of experience and ARRT(MRI) certification for a 13-week travel assignment in Rockford, IL.

Responsibilities

Hospital-based MRI department
Various shift options available: 5x8-hour shifts (8:00 AM–4:30 PM), 4x10-hour shifts (8:00 AM–6:30 PM), or 3x12-hour shifts (8:00 AM–8:30 PM or 9:00 AM–9:30 PM)
36 hours per week with occasional weekend shifts required
On-call and holiday rotation required
Uses MRI systems, surface coils, physiologic gating devices, and associated equipment
Uses radiology information systems including PACS
Perform MRI procedures and related techniques to produce diagnostic images for physician interpretation
Responsibilities include patient preparation, positioning, immobilization, and instruction to ensure cooperation and minimize anxiety
Select and apply appropriate pulse sequences and protocols, considering data acquisition parameters
Perform venipuncture, start and maintain venous access, and prepare and administer contrast media
Apply MRI safety principles to minimize risk to patients, self, and others
Assist physicians with interventional procedures using aseptic technique and universal precautions
Evaluate images and data for technical quality; manipulate and reconstruct digital data for display and archiving
Works as part of a multidisciplinary team; may participate in committees and departmental projects
May provide practical instruction to students and peers

Requirements

Minimum 2 years of experience as an MRI Technologist
Graduate of an accredited radiography program
ARRT(R) and ARRT(MRI) registrations required
Current BLS/BCLS certification required
License required if applicable
