Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position requiring a minimum of 2 years of RN experience and Epic proficiency, working night shifts with rotating weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Inpatient Med/Surg unit with telemetry capability in a hospital setting
• Primary patient population consists of adult medical patients with established diagnoses requiring acute care or treatment for disease process complications
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Night shift schedule, 7p–7:30a, three 12-hour shifts per week
• Rotating weekends and holidays required
• Float required between all health system facilities
• Epic EMR experience is mandatory
• Clinical skills utilized include dysrhythmia interpretation, telemetry remote monitoring, rapid response team activation, feeding tube care and management, renal failure management, blood product administration, peripheral and PICC line care and management, IV insertion, PCA management, CVA care, surgical drain management, chest tube management (Emerson Pleur-Evac), non-invasive airway management (nasal cannula, oxygen face masks), isolation precautions, and wound care
• All RNs, regardless of specialty, must pass a Pass/Fail EKG exam during compliance; two attempts are allowed
• Study materials for the EKG exam will not be provided by the facility — candidates should prepare in advance
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• The facility maintains a zero-tolerance policy for tardiness and unexcused absences

Requirements

• Active RN license — NC or Compact license required
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Charge RN experience preferred
• Two professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
• Copy of driver's license required for consideration
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
