Job Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Level IV NICU position requiring at least 2 years of NICU experience, with PICU experience also required, at a leading academic children's hospital in Michigan.

Responsibilities

• Primary assignment is in a 59-bed Level IV Neonatal ICU serving premature newborns and infants with complex medical, surgical, and unusual conditions
• May also be scheduled in a 30-bed multi-acuity PICU when census in the NICU does not require full staffing
• NICU patient population includes inborn admissions (~80%) and transported patients (~20%) with complex conditions such as those requiring ECMO, high frequency ventilation, nitric oxide therapy, and therapeutic hypothermia
• PICU patient population ranges from critically ill to short-stay observation, serving newborns through young adults across multiple subspecialties
• Advanced technology in use includes ECMO, nitric oxide, high frequency ventilation, and CRRT
• Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
• Epic EMR (preferred experience)
• Provides acute-phase through recovery nursing care to neonates in a family-centered care environment, including individualized family education and discharge preparation
• NICU nurses participate as members of the 24/7 neonatal transport team
• PICU care is delivered in partnership with a broad multidisciplinary team including Pediatric Critical Care Medicine, Surgery, Neurosurgery, Hematology/Oncology, BMT, Nephrology, Transplant Surgery, and Cardiology
• Candidates who have been employed by this health system within the past 12 months are not eligible to apply

Requirements

• Active Michigan RN license required
• Current certifications required: NRP, BLS, and PALS
• Minimum 2 years of NICU RN experience required
• PICU experience required
• Experience with NICU IV therapy required
• Ability to attend high-risk deliveries required
• At least 2 professional references required, including at least 1 supervisory reference
• 2 years of combined experience in PICU, PCTU, NICU, and/or moderate care preferred
