Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PCU (Progressive Care Unit) night shift position requiring Epic proficiency and ACLS/BLS/NIHSS certifications.

Responsibilities

• Progressive Care Unit (PCU) in a hospital setting
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Patient ratio of 1:5-6
• Every other weekend required, or a total of 6 weekend shifts per 6-week period, based on unit needs
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required to other units or locations within the health system (Cape Canaveral, Holmes Regional, Palm Bay, or Viera)
• Epic EMR experience required
• 13-week contract
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate as travelers — no radius restrictions apply
• Candidates who have previously held an internal contracted position must have been separated for at least 1 year before being eligible
• Flu vaccine required between October 31 and March 31; medical and religious exemptions accepted
• Scrub policy: solid color scrubs required — tops and bottoms must match, no logos or prints
• Free parking is provided with a decal issued at orientation
• Time is tracked via Kronos using a badge swipe system
• All time-off and scheduling requests must be submitted upfront

Requirements

• Active FL or Compact RN license required — no pending licenses accepted
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Epic EMR proficiency required
• 2 professional references from authority figures (Manager, Supervisor, Charge Nurse, or Director) within the last year required for consideration
