Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position in Massena, NY, requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience and Epic proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Med/Surg Telemetry unit in a hospital setting
• Patient population includes COPD, pneumonia, non-specific abdominal pain, cellulitis, and chest pain rule-out cases
• Day shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:30 AM – 7:30 PM
• Every other weekend (EOW) required
• Patient ratios: 1:6 on days, 1:7 on nights, 1:8 on weekends
• Epic EMR experience required
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
• Any color nursing uniform is acceptable
• All time-off and scheduling requests must be disclosed at the time of initial consideration

Requirements

• Active NY RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg Telemetry nursing experience required
• Proficiency in telemetry interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Experience with blood product administration, central line care, PICC line management, and IV placement and maintenance
• Experience with BiPAP/CPAP management, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), and non-invasive airway management
• Experience with CVA, seizure disorders, and substance withdrawal patient care
• 2 professional supervisory references from within the past 2 years required for consideration
• Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required for consideration
