Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a neuro step-down position requiring Epic proficiency, NIHSS certification, and night shift availability.

Responsibilities

• 12-bed intermediate care step-down unit applying critical care and neuroscience principles
• Patient population includes neuro ICU transfers, neuro trauma, subarachnoid/intraventricular/intracerebral hemorrhage, ENT oncology with tumor resection and flap reconstruction, post-operative spine, and a broad range of neurological conditions
• Patient ratio of 1:3
• Night shift: 4x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:00
• Every other weekend required
• Every other holiday required
• Floating required per facility float policy
• EMR: Epic (experience required)
• Provide intermediate-level nursing care to complex neurological and post-surgical patients
• Up to 40 hours of RTO available per 13-week contract
• Candidates who have previously worked at this facility must allow 12 months to pass before returning as a traveler
• No radius rule — local candidates are accepted

Requirements

• Active VA or compact RN license required; pending VA license will be considered
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Two professional references required for consideration
• Copy of driver's license and Social Security card required for consideration
