Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an MRI Technologist with at least 1 year of experience and ARRT-MR certification for a 13-week travel assignment with day shifts in an acute care hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• 3x12-hour day shifts, 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, scheduled Thursday, Friday, and Saturday
• 13-week travel contract
• No on-call requirements
• Holiday coverage is required
• Works alongside regular staff in the MRI department
• May float within the hospital as needed
• Meditech EMR (preferred)
• Performs a broad range of MRI procedures including brain, spine, musculoskeletal, cardiovascular, abdomen/pelvis, breast, and chest imaging
• Specialized imaging procedures include MRA, MRV, MRCP, perfusion, spectroscopy, diffusion imaging, gradient echo, spin echo, multiplanar reconstruction, and image post-processing
• GE MRI equipment used
• Proficient in preparation and/or administration of contrast media, starting peripheral IVs, radiation safety, and isolation precautions/PPE
• Skilled in special imaging procedures including peripheral MRA, spectroscopy, surface coils, T-1 and T-2 weighted images, and spinal trauma imaging
• First-time travelers are not eligible for this position
• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate; no mileage restriction applies
• Return staff must have been away for at least 6 months and must be in good standing
• RTO requests must be submitted at the time of consideration
• Candidates with a pending license will be considered with documentation showing the license is in progress

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of MRI technologist experience required
• ARRT-MR certification required
• BLS required
• ARRT (R) required
• Experience on GE MRI systems required; experience with GE MRI software version 28 or higher preferred
• Prior travel experience required
• License required if applicable
• Two professional references completed within the last two years, provided by a supervisor
• SSN and DOB required for consideration
• Driver's license required for consideration
• COVID vaccination card required; medical or religious exemption documentation accepted
• Candidates with background hits will be considered
