Description

American Traveler is hiring an Outpatient Occupational Therapist with 1+ year experience and an in-hand Lymphedema Certification for a hospital-based outpatient rehab department.

Details

  • Hospital-based outpatient rehabilitation department specializing in lymphedema care
  • Work alongside OTs/OTAs, PT/PTAs, and SLPs along with a wound care clinic, compression fitters, and lymphedema vendors
  • Patient population ranges from young/middle adults to geriatrics with a mix of diagnoses including lymphedema
  • Day shift schedule, posted as 4x10s with 5x8s also available
  • No weekend or call requirements
  • May float within facility and scope of practice to an acute care inpatient facility as needed
  • Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of experience required
  • Lymphedema Certification required in-hand at time of consideration
  • NBCOT certification required
  • State OT license required if applicable
  • BLS certification required
  • Community hospital experience preferred
  • Experience with lymphedema management and splinting preferred
  • Patient ratio experience of 1:5

Additional Information

  • First-time travelers will be considered for this role
  • Responsibilities include assessment, evaluation, plan of care, reassessments, and discharge planning
  • Skills include lifting and transfer, patient/family education, safety and injury prevention, and splinting
  • Experience with orthopedic conditions such as hip fracture, total hip/knee replacement, and soft tissue injuries preferred
  • Experience with adaptive equipment assessment, amputee care, arthritis, and neurological disorders preferred
  • Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, which must be finalized at time of consideration
  • No RTO can be requested during orientation week
  • If one or two major holidays fall during the assignment, coverage is required with no holiday RTO available
  • If three major holidays fall during the assignment, coverage of two is required with one holiday RTO request possibly considered
  • Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, and New Year's Eve/Day
  • Local candidates accepted at the same rate
  • Full compliance required to start on time
