Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position in Vermont, requiring at least 3 years of acute care experience and an active VT or compact RN license.

Responsibilities

• General Med/Surg unit in a 25-bed critical access hospital setting
• Patient population is primarily adults with occasional pediatric patients — this is not a dedicated pediatric floor
• Unit provides medical, surgical, outpatient, observation, swing bed, and pediatric care
• Day shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM, three 12-hour shifts per week (36 hours/week)
• Schedule includes every other weekend
• Meditech EMR — familiarity preferred
• Responsibilities include coordinating comprehensive patient care using the Nursing Process, addressing patients' physiological, psychosocial, spiritual, and developmental needs
• Accountable to the Unit Director and works collaboratively with the Clinical Nurse Lead and/or Nursing Supervisor during shifts
• Travelers begin their assignment on Wednesdays
• All required credentials must be uploaded at least five business days before the start date

Requirements

• Active VT RN license or compact multi-state RN license currently in hand
• Current BLS (American Heart Association) and ACLS certifications required prior to start
• Minimum 3 years of acute care nursing experience required
• Candidates with Meditech experience are preferred
• Pedi-only RNs will not be considered for this position
