Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position at a community hospital in Southlake, TX, requiring Epic proficiency and a minimum of 2 years of ED experience.

Responsibilities

• General Emergency Department setting treating a combined adult and pediatric patient population
• Community hospital environment at a STEMI and Stroke Certified facility
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00–19:30)
• 13-week contract
• Epic EMR is required
• Provide emergency nursing care across a broad, high-acuity patient population including trauma, neurological, psychiatric, pediatric, and multi-system cases
• Orientation includes completion of required online modules tracked in Healthstream; modules not completed prior to start will be finished during orientation
• Candidates residing within 90 miles of the facility are considered local and may be subject to a different pay rate
• RTO requests are limited to no more than 5 non-consecutive days; during the holiday season (November–January), only one holiday RTO may be requested — all RTO requires management approval prior to contract signing

Requirements

• Active TX RN license or Compact RN license currently in hand
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS — AHA preferred, military certs acceptable; ARC certifications are not accepted; TNCC preferred
• Minimum 2 years of ED nursing experience required
• Community hospital experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Proficiency in triage, IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, central line care, cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation/management, emergency medication administration (including IV vasopressors, IV sedation, IV paralytics, and procedural sedation), and ventilator/intubation care
• Experience managing neurological, psychiatric, orthopedic, pediatric, and respiratory emergency conditions
• SSN, DOB, and a state-issued photo ID are required for consideration
