Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Stepdown Neuro position requiring Neuro PCU experience, Epic proficiency, and a valid NC or compact RN license.

Responsibilities

• 30-bed Medical Neuroscience Progressive Care unit with a primary focus on medical neurological patients
• A Centralized Cardiac Monitoring Department (CCMD) provides monitoring surveillance for patients on the unit
• Patient population includes CVA and other neurological conditions requiring progressive care
• Specialized procedures include External CPAP/BiPAP, TR band, and Yale Swallowing Screen
• Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Rotating weekend requirement
• Floating required as needed across all system facilities
• Scheduling is done in 6-week periods via self-assisted scheduling through Optilink
• Epic EMR experience is mandatory
• All RNs must pass a Pass/Fail EKG exam during compliance, with two attempts allowed — candidates should prepare in advance as study materials are not provided by the facility
• Zero-tolerance policy for tardiness and unexcused absences
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for the travel pay rate

Requirements

• Active NC or compact RN license required
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Neuro PCU experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Previous Charge RN experience preferred
• Copy of driver's license required for consideration
• Two professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
