Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Operating Room position requiring both circulating and scrubbing experience across a high-volume, multi-specialty main OR.

Details

• Main OR setting within a hospital, covering General, Neuro, Spine, Ortho, Robotics, Urology, Vascular, and Colorectal surgical specialties
• Adult to geriatric patient population
• 16 OR rooms with an average daily census of 35 patients
• EMR: Epic; medication dispensing via Pyxis; two da Vinci Xi robotic surgery systems in use
• Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (6:30 AM – 7:00 PM)
• Approximately 2–3 weekend shifts per contract period, plus 1 weekend call
• On-call requirement of approximately 7–8 calls per 6-week schedule, including 1–2 weekend shifts
• Floating to other areas is rare
• Scrubs are provided by the facility

Requirements

• Active Georgia (GA) or Compact RN license required
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of OR nursing experience required
• Both circulating and scrubbing experience are required — this is a hard requirement
• Experience with robotic-assisted surgery (da Vinci) preferred given the unit's caseload

• Local candidates are accepted
• RTO is capped at 7 days for the contract period; RTO cannot be requested during the first week of assignment
• Holiday coverage policy: if 1 or 2 major holidays fall within the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work all of them with no holiday RTO allowed; if 3 major holidays fall within the assignment period, the traveler must work 2 and may request 1 holiday off for approval
• Major holidays include: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
• No schedule change requests or alternate shift arrangements are permitted — the posted shift is firm
• Travelers who have previously worked at any Piedmont facility must have been away for a full year before returning as a traveler
• Full compliance with onboarding requirements is necessary to begin on time; delays may result in a 2-week start pushback due to the bi-weekly orientation schedule
• Two supervisory references (Manager level or above; charge nurse references not accepted) are strongly preferred
