Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist with at least 2 years of experience and 1 year of acute care hospital experience for a 13-week travel assignment at a Level II Trauma acute care facility in Redding, CA.

Responsibilities

• Acute care hospital setting at a Level II Trauma Center with stroke certification
• Physical Therapy unit serving a multidisciplinary rehab team including PT, OT, and Speech
• Patient population includes cardiac, stroke, orthopedic, ICU, neuro, and med/surg; facility also has a low-volume pediatrics ward and neonatal ICU, though travelers are not required to work the NICU and NICU/pediatric experience is not required
• Schedule is four 10-hour day shifts (7:00 AM–5:30 PM), working every 3rd weekend (possibly every other weekend)
• PT coverage is provided 7 days a week; a team leader covers when the manager is not present
• PT aides are available on-unit (typically one aide Sun–Tue, two aides Wed–Sat)
• Charting is done in Cerner
• No floating required
• 8-hour on-site orientation provided
• Holidays are worked according to the permanent staff rotation covering all modalities
• Dress code: burgundy polo or button-down long-sleeve shirt (available through a hospital vendor) with dark solid pants; scrubs are not permitted
• Candidates who have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity Health facility within the past year are not eligible; candidates who worked PRN through outside staffing firms will be considered
• Open to first-time travelers

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of physical therapy experience required
• Minimum 1 year of acute care hospital experience required
• Active CA PT license required at time of consideration; pending licenses will not be accepted — license required if applicable
• Current BLS certification required; pending certifications will not be accepted
• COVID vaccination required
• A copy of driver's license is required for consideration
• 2 professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months worked and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years worked, including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire
