Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Pediatric ICU position in San Antonio, TX, requiring at least 1 year of PICU experience and ventilator proficiency.

• Pediatric ICU (PICU) setting at a children's hospital in San Antonio, TX
• Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• 13-week contract duration
• Full-time position

Requirements

• Active RN license in TX or a compact state
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required (AHA only)
• Minimum 1 year of PICU experience required
• Ventilator experience required
• BSN preferred
• Two professional references required for consideration
• Valid US Social Security Number required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provides routine and complex nursing care using the full nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation
• Administers medications and treatments per protocol and monitors for side effects and effectiveness
• Addresses complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of pediatric patients and their families
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided
• Assesses learning needs and delivers education to patients, families, and caregivers
• New hires are onboarded with a designated preceptor and must complete organizational and Pediatric Services-specific competency validations
• All newly hired experienced RNs must attend New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for travel rates
• Temp-to-perm conversion is possible
