Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry (Sierra Med-Tele) night shift position in Reno, NV, requiring 2+ years of Med/Surg Tele experience and an active NV RN license.

Details

• Sierra Med-Tele unit (Sierra 1) within a Level II Trauma Center hospital setting
• Patient population includes adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients and their families/caregivers
• Telemetry monitoring is a core component of patient care on this unit
• Schedule is 3x12-hour night shifts per week, with scheduling based on department needs and may include weekends, holidays, and some call shifts
• No on-call requirements outside of scheduled call shifts
• Floating to other units or departments may be required up to the traveler's competency level
• One additional shift pick-up is required per scheduling period
• Uses Epic for charting; training provided during orientation or candidates may test out
• KRONOS used for time keeping
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active NV RN license required prior to start; RNs who have never held a NV temp or permanent license may apply but must begin the application process immediately upon offer
• Current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Must pass a telemetry competency exam including identification and measurement of telemetry rhythm strips
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg Telemetry experience required

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care; coordinating care across disciplines; and applying clinical judgment to individualized patient outcomes across the full episode of care
• The facility is the region's only Level II Trauma Center, serving 80,000+ ER and trauma patients annually, and is home to the region's only children's hospital
• Epic orientation training is provided; candidates with prior Epic experience may test out
• At least 2 major holidays will be required
• A 13-week break is required before a returning traveler may begin a new contract at this facility
• Blocked scheduling is not permitted
• Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility; local candidates are not eligible
• RTO requests must be submitted at time of consideration; the facility does not extend contracts to accommodate RTO taken during the assignment
