Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position at a high-volume Level II Trauma Center in Reno, NV, requiring a minimum of 2 years of high-risk L&D experience and an active NV RN license.

Responsibilities

• High-risk OB unit with 15 labor beds, 9 antepartum beds, and 3 OR suites
• Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts per week (36 hours/week)
• May be required to float to other maternal units, including Postpartum and NICU, up to competency level
• Schedule may vary based on department needs and can include weekends, holidays, and some call shifts
• No on-call requirements
• Epic EMR used for charting; training provided during orientation or candidates may test out
• 13-week contract
• Extremely busy, fast-paced environment serving a 500-mile regional radius, with a volume and pace comparable to a Level I Trauma Center
• Provide nursing care to high-risk OB patients across labor, antepartum, and surgical settings
• Minimum of 2 major holidays required during the contract period
• Travelers who have previously worked at this facility must take a 13-week break after their last contract ends before returning
• Blocked scheduling is not permitted
• RTO requests must be submitted at the time of application; the facility does not extend contracts to compensate for approved time off
• KRONOS used for time keeping

Requirements

• Active NV RN license required prior to start; RNs who have never held a NV temp or perm license may still be considered and must apply immediately upon offer
• Current AHA certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NRP; STABLE certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of L&D experience in a high-risk hospital setting required
• Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible
