Description

American Traveler is hiring a Cardiac Sonographer with at least 1 year of experience for a 13-week Echo assignment at a Level II Trauma Center and Certified Stroke Center in Bangor, ME.

Details

Echocardiography department with 7 imaging rooms that can accommodate Echo
Adult inpatient and outpatient population
High-volume department seeing 60–70 patients per day
Routine procedures include structural heart Echo, TEE, and Stress Tests
Uses Philips equipment and Cerner EMR
4x10 hour day shifts, 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Weekend rotation shared with other staff; details discussed during interview
Call rotation of approximately 1 night per week (preferred staff only)
Holiday coverage is considered part of the weekend/call rotation (preferred staff only)
Floating within the facility only

Requirements

Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Cardiac Sonographer
Current BLS and ARDMS certification required
CCI-RCS certification preferred
Compact or ME state license required for consideration — license required if applicable
Candidate's permanent address must be 100+ miles South/SW of the facility
Candidate must not have previously worked at any Northern Light Health Hospital in a permanent capacity
2 professional references within the past year required; at least one must be from a Supervisor, Manager, or Director (Charge RN acceptable; peer references not accepted)
Full SSN, Driver's License, and copies of all certifications required for consideration
Flu vaccination required for clearance

Additional Information

Level II Trauma Center serving approximately two-thirds of the state, functioning as the closest trauma center within a 2-hour radius; also a Certified Stroke Center
Team includes an Echo Supervisor, 6–9 additional sonographers, and 7 supporting Cardiologists
Orientation is 1 week
First-time travelers are welcome to apply
Manager interviews are conducted for this position
All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of consideration
Teal scrubs required
