Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg Oncology night shift position in Birmingham, AL, requiring a minimum of 2 years of recent med/surg experience and an active AL or compact RN license.

Details

• Work on a 41-bed Med/Surg unit (5 West) within a hospital setting
• Patient population includes med/surg, oncology, neuro, and palliative care patients
• Patient ratio of 6:1
• Night shift: 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM
• Every third weekend required
• Floating required as needed
• No on-call requirements
• Alaris IV pumps used on the unit
• EMR: Epic (experience required)

Requirements

• Active AL or compact RN license required and must be in hand at time of consideration
• Current BLS certification required (AHA accepted only; American Red Cross not accepted)
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required (AHA only)
• Minimum 2 years of recent med/surg experience required
• Proficient in patient assessment, IV insertion, Foley insertion, and NGT placement
• SSN and DOB required for consideration

• 13-week contract
• Provides nursing care to a diverse patient population including oncology, neurological, and palliative care patients
• Med/surg background is the preferred skillset for this role
• Navy scrubs required; fleece is not permitted
