Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry - Heart/Stroke Night Shift position in Tuscaloosa, AL, requiring at least 2 years of experience with 1 year in a cardiac or neurological specialty.

Details

• 42-bed Heart Failure/Stroke unit dedicated to patients with neurological and cardiac conditions such as congestive heart failure and acute stroke
• Patient population includes complex neuro-cardiac conditions managed in collaboration with cardiologists and neurologists
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• 36 or 48 hours per week available
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday coverage required
• Floating to other units and hospital locations required
• EMR: Meditech (experience not required)

Requirements

• Active AL RN license or Compact RN license required — no pending or temporary licenses accepted
• No hits (past or current) on nursing license allowed
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA or Red Cross), ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience; candidates with 18 months may be considered
• At least 1 year of recent experience in cardiac or neurological nursing specialty required
• NURSYS license verification required for consideration
• Current driver's license required for consideration
• Two professional references from within the last year required for consideration

• Work alongside a highly skilled team of nurses, cardiologists, and neurologists to uphold best practice standards
• Virtual orientation provided; competency-based modules are completed during orientation — no pre-start HealthStream modules required
• Candidates may be required to complete a Cardiac Exam as part of the onboarding process
• Solid navy scrubs required
• Timekeeping system: Centricity
