Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg Combination unit in Elko, NV, with night shift hours and at least 1 year of experience required.

Details

Works in a 23-bed Acute Care Services unit encompassing Medicine, Surgery, Telemetry, and Pediatrics
Patient population includes pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients
Common diagnoses and treatments include COPD, CHF, pre/post cath lab, orthopedic surgery, general surgery, and acute respiratory failure (adult and pediatric)
Patient ratio is 1:5
Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 12-hour shifts
36 hours per week
Every other weekend required
Floating to other departments possible based on patient census and staffing needs
Equipment used includes Omnicell Medication Dispenser, Baxter pumps, Masimo Monitors, and GE Telemetry Monitoring system
EMR: MEDHOST
13-week contract

Requirements

Active NV RN license required
Active RN license (Standard or Compact) required
Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing required
BLS required
ACLS required (up to 60 days after start date to obtain)
PALS required (up to 90 days after start date to obtain)
RQI certifications are not accepted
Med/Surg and telemetry experience preferred
Social Security Number required for consideration
Date of birth required for consideration
Must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to qualify for travel placement

Additional Information

Candidates must not have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months
Candidates cannot be employed full-time elsewhere during the assignment
Fit testing is provided on-site for travelers
Weekly orientations are available
No mandatory scrub color — any color scrubs are acceptable
COVID vaccination card required
Elko, NV is located approximately 3 hours from Salt Lake City and offers outdoor recreation including hiking, skiing, fishing, and snowmobiling, as well as local cultural events and casinos
