Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring a minimum of 7 years of experience and an active CO or compact RN license.

Details

• Day shift position, 7:00am–7:00pm
• 36 hours per week in a hospital-based Labor & Delivery unit
• Patient population includes women in labor, postpartum patients, and newborns
• On-call required
• May rotate shifts and areas based on staffing and census needs

Requirements

• Active CO or compact RN license currently in hand
• Current BLS (CPR) certification required
• NRP and ACLS required within one year of hire
• Minimum 7 years of experience required
• OB experience preferred, with knowledge of labor, delivery, and postpartum care
• Ability to perform effectively in highly stressful situations
• Must be physically able to stand and walk for long periods and perform heavy lifting
• Exposure to blood, body fluids, and infectious diseases is expected in this role

Additional Information

• Responsible for assessing and monitoring patients through labor, delivery, and postpartum, including newborn care
• Duties include preparing for C-sections and inductions, administering IV medications, and providing patient education
• Prepares the delivery room, provides emotional support to patients and families, and coordinates transfers when needed
• Adheres to infection control principles and general OB department policies
• Reports directly to the New Beginnings Birth Center Manager
