Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical/Surgical (Urology-focused) night shift position requiring Cerner proficiency and a strong urology skillset.
Details
- Inpatient hospital Medical/Surgical unit setting
- Patient population includes urology, plastic surgery, orthopedic oncology, surgical oncology, and hospitalist cases
- Specialized procedures include continuous bladder irrigation (CBI) and hand irrigations
- Cerner EMR experience is required
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:30
- Travelers may float to different levels of care including Med/Surg, PCU, and ICU at both primary and affiliate hospital locations
Requirements
- Active IN or Compact RN license currently in hand
- Current BLS certification required (AHA or RQI accepted)
- Minimum 18 months to 2 years of RN experience required
- Strong urology skillset required; candidates must demonstrate majority proficiency ratings of 3s and 4s in the urology section
- IV insertion experience required
- Cerner charting experience required
- Nursing degree from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited institution required

- Local candidates are not accepted for this Med/Surg position
- Indiana (IN) RN license holders are not eligible for this Med/Surg position — this restriction applies to non-Periop/Allied/Ambulatory positions; only a Compact license from another state would qualify
- Former permanent or PRN employees of IU Health must have been separated for at least 12 months before being considered as a traveler
- Candidates must be available to work 2 out of 3 major holidays
- Up to 5 days of RTO may be approved for this assignment
