Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PACU position requiring a minimum of 2 years of PACU experience, with on-call responsibilities every third weekend.

Responsibilities

• Works in the PACU unit with floating required between PACU and Same Day Surgery (SDS)
• Patient population includes pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients
• Cases include spinal, general, and cesarean section (C/S) anesthesia recovery
• Day shift: 3x11.5-hour shifts, 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM
• On-call required 24 hours every third weekend (Saturday and Sunday), plus 2–3 weekday call shifts from 8:00 PM – 8:00 AM
• Charting performed in Epic
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates are accepted
• Any schedule or time-off requests must be submitted and approved prior to an offer being extended
• Former RWJBH staff (full-time or PRN) must have been separated from the RWJBH health system for a minimum of 1 year before being eligible for a travel assignment

Requirements

• Active NJ or Compact RN license required
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and PALS
• Minimum 2 years of strong PACU experience required; 3 years highly preferred
• SSN and DOB required for consideration
• Two current professional references required
• Skills checklist specific to PACU required for consideration
