Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Operating Room position requiring both circulator and scrub experience across a high-volume, multi-specialty OR with robotics capabilities.

Details

• Main OR setting supporting General, Neuro, Spine, Ortho, Robotics, Urology, Vascular, and Colorectal surgical specialties
• Adult to geriatric patient population
• 16-room OR with an average daily census of 35 patients
• Utilizes Epic, Pyxis, and two Da Vinci XI robotic surgical systems
• Day shift, 4x10-hour shifts, 6:30 AM–5:00 PM
• 2–3 weekends per 8-week schedule, either in-house or on-call
• Call requirement of 7–8 calls per 8-week schedule, including 1 weekend call, 1–2 weekend shifts, and 2–3 weekday night call shifts; call shifts are either C1 (7 PM–7 AM) or C2 (7 AM–7 PM)
• Floating is rare but may occur within the facility and scope of practice as needed
• 10-week contract

Requirements

• Active GA RN license or Compact RN license required at time of consideration
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of OR nursing experience required
• Both circulator and scrub experience are required — candidates without both will not be considered
• Two supervisory references (manager-level or above; charge nurses not accepted) are highly preferred

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates are accepted
• Scrubs are provided by the facility
• RTO maximum is 7 days for the contract; RTO cannot be requested during the first week of assignment
• RTO blackout dates apply during Spring Break (April 4–12)
• Holiday coverage is required: if one or two major holidays fall within the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work all of them; if three major holidays fall within the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work two — major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
• No schedule change requests or alternate shift requests are permitted — the posted shift is firm
• Travelers must have been away from all facilities within this health system for a full year before returning as a traveler
• All compliance requirements must be met on time; delays may result in a two-week pushback due to a bi-weekly orientation schedule
• Candidates undergo a clinical pre-screen review before being forwarded to the manager for final consideration
