Job Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an ED Clinical Decision Unit position at a Level 3 Trauma Center in Cape Girardeau, MO, requiring a minimum of 1 year of ED experience and an active MO or compact RN license.

Responsibilities

• ED Clinical Decision Unit at a 245-bed Level 3 Emergency and Trauma Center
• Average daily patient flow of 70–80 patients
• 25-bed unit serving a typical ER patient population
• Variable schedule with 3x12-hour shifts (specific shift to be discussed at interview)
• Every other weekend required
• Rotating holiday coverage required
• Float requirements per customary unit policy
• No on-call requirements
• Epic EMR in use
• 13-week contract in Cape Girardeau, MO
• Coordinates, plans, directs, and implements the nursing process for patients in the ED Clinical Decision Unit
• The facility holds Joint Commission certifications as a Comprehensive Cardiac Center and Primary Stroke Center, and is designated a Missouri Level II Stroke Center and Missouri Level I STEMI Center
• Black scrubs required
• Up to 5 days of RTO allowed but must be made up during the assignment
• Candidates living within 50 miles of the facility are eligible but subject to local candidate rate and contract terms
• Cape Girardeau offers a variety of local attractions including parks, wineries, and cultural sites

Requirements

• Active MO or compact RN license required at time of consideration
• Current BLS certification required (no certifications expiring within the first 30 days of assignment unless renewal is documented)
• Minimum 1 year of recent ED experience required
• Valid U.S. Social Security Number required (Canadian SINs not accepted)
• No gaps in employment of 90+ days within the past 12 months
