Description

American Traveler is hiring an MRI Technologist with 1+ year of MRI experience and active ARRT(MR) certification for a 26-week travel assignment in Utah.

• Position is based in a hospital MRI department
• 4x10 hour day shifts per week
• 26-week contract

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of MRI Technologist experience
• Active ARRT registration — RT(R)(MR) or RT(MR) required
• BLS certification (AHA) required — must not expire prior to start date
• Utah State License required if applicable
• Proficiency with Epic EMR
• Must be able to administer IV contrast (gadolinium)
• Physical requirements include hearing/listening, lifting, manual dexterity, seeing, and standing
• DOB and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration

Additional Information

• Perform MRI examinations per department protocol, including proper patient identification, order verification, and patient preparation
• Select scanning techniques and protocols in coordination with the radiologist
• Administer IV contrast material as ordered by a physician and under radiologist or physician supervision
• Demonstrate knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and anatomical positioning
• Operate all MRI equipment and related information systems, including troubleshooting and knowledge of shutdown/startup procedures
• Maintain working knowledge of the magnet, cryogens, gradient amplifiers, and relevant computer hardware and software
• Adhere to MRI safety policy and the Four Zone concept, including proper MR magnet safety during emergencies and knowledge of the Quench procedure
• Complete all required documentation including time stamps and image storage
• Follow protocols for medical necessity, coding and charging, consents, quality documentation, ACR QC program maintenance, and equipment failure reporting
• Must meet departmental IV certification competency within three months of hire
• Must complete the controlled substance module and initial moderate sedation module within six months of hire (where applicable)
• Former permanent staff must have been separated from the facility for at least one year before being eligible for a travel assignment
