Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Neuro unit night shift position in Fort Smith, AR, requiring 2+ years of experience and an active AR or compact RN license.

Details

• 18-bed Neuro unit in an acute care hospital setting
• Patient population includes stroke and neuro surgery cases
• Patient ratio of 6:1
• Uses telemetry neuro cart equipment
• EMR: Epic
• Night shift schedule, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required to like units

Requirements

• Active AR RN license or compact RN license required
• Current certifications required: BLS/CPR
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) experience required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience, with at least 1 year of recent Neuro experience
• Valid U.S. Social Security Number required — Canadian SINs are not accepted
• No employment gaps of 90+ days within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Experience with back surgery cases is preferred
• All nurses providing direct patient care must pass a medication and math competency exam (minimum passing score of 90%) before assuming medication administration responsibilities; the exam may be retaken once
• Black scrubs required; open-toe shoes are not permitted
• Up to 5 days of RTO is permitted but must be made up during the assignment
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are eligible but subject to a reduced travel pay rate
• Local candidates within 50 miles are limited to 3 consecutive 13-week contracts before a 1-year separation or transfer to a facility outside the 50-mile radius is required
