Job Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) - Cardiac position in Birmingham, AL, requiring 2+ years of telemetry experience and AHA certifications.

Responsibilities

• Night shift position, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• 13-week travel contract
• Progressive Care Unit (PCU) on a 41-bed cardiac floor (3 West)
• Patient population includes cardiac telemetry, post-CABG, post-cath, chest pain, and CHF patients
• Patient ratio of 4–5:1
• Equipment used includes Alaris pumps and Omnicell
• EMR: Epic
• Every other weekend required
• No call or on-call requirements
• Occasional floating to like units required
• Navy scrubs required; fleece is not permitted and fingernail policy must be followed
• SSN and DOB required for consideration
• Skills checklist for the specific area required for consideration
• Certifications must not be expired or expiring within 30 days of start date

Requirements

• Active AL RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
• Current AHA BLS and AHA ACLS certifications required (American Red Cross certifications are not accepted)
• Minimum 2 years of recent PCU/cardiac experience required
• Telemetry experience required
• Experience with cardiac drips required
