Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical-Surgical unit position requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience and a GA or compact RN license, working night shifts on an every-other-weekend schedule.

Details

Medical-Surgical unit in a hospital setting
Patient diagnoses include general medical-surgical cases, peritoneal dialysis, and radial band recovery (no PCI)
Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Every other weekend required
No on-call responsibilities
Floating within the facility and scope of practice as needed

Requirements

Active RN license (GA or compact) required
Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg RN experience required
Current certifications must be on file for consideration

Additional Information

First-time travelers are welcome to apply
Local candidates are accepted
No schedule change requests or alternate shifts will be accommodated — the posted night shift is firm
RTO maximum is 7 days; RTO cannot be requested during the first week of the assignment
Holiday coverage policy: if one or two major holidays fall within the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work all of them with no holiday RTO; if three major holidays fall within the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work two of them, with one holiday RTO request eligible for review
Major holidays include: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday (counts as 1), Christmas Eve/Christmas Day (counts as 1), and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day (counts as 1)
Travelers must have been away from all facilities within this health system for at least one full year before returning as a traveler
Two supervisory references (manager level or above; charge nurses not accepted) are highly preferred for consideration
Full compliance with onboarding requirements is necessary to start on time; delays may result in a two-week pushback due to a bi-weekly orientation schedule
