Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Progressive Critical Care Unit (PCCU) position requiring a minimum of 2 years of PCU/ICU experience and active Epic proficiency.

Details

• Progressive Critical Care Unit (PCCU) in an academic medical center setting
• High-acuity medical and surgical patient population, including cases involving respiratory failure, sepsis, closed head injuries, multi-system organ dysfunction, endocrine disorders, complex traumas, and surgical complications
• Average patient load of 3 high-acuity patients
• Proficiency with advanced hemodynamics required, including pressor management per titration protocols — antihypertensive drips, sedatives, Narcan drips, and thrombolytics
• Experience with A-lines, CVP monitoring, EVD, ortho traction, HFNC, BiPAP/CPAP, and oxypendent required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend required
• Rotating holiday coverage required

Requirements

• Active NY RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience in a PCU or ICU setting
• Current ACLS certification from AHA or RQI required
• Current BLS certification from AHA or RQI required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Competency in care of medical and surgical populations required
• US Social Security Number required
• Flu vaccine required; only medical exemptions signed by a licensed professional are accepted — personal and religious declinations are not accepted
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Nurses with large-scale adult PCU experience or community hospital ICU experience are encouraged to apply
• A competency test must be completed within 24 hours of consideration — test is sent to the candidate's email
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Candidates residing in the following counties are not eligible: Albany, Columbia, Dutchess, Fulton, Greene, Montgomery, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Ulster, Warren, and Washington
• Any requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of application
• No blocked scheduling
• Travel pairs are not permitted
