  • Level 1 Trauma facility
  • Adult patient population with a focus on oncology and trauma diagnoses
  • 28-bed unit with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4 (PCU) and 1:5 (Med-Surg) on days, and 1:5–6 on nights
  • Common drips include chemotherapy, heparin, cardizem, and protonix; RNs may titrate insulin and cardizem
  • Hemodynamic monitoring equipment in use including CVP, A-line, Swan, and EV-1000; ventilator patients also present
  • IV pumps: Alaris

  • Self-scheduling unit
  • Floating required to same level of care (Med-Surg and PCU units)

Requirements

  • Active NE state or Compact (NLC) RN license required; pending licenses will not be accepted
  • Minimum 1 year of RN experience required, with both PCU and oncology experience required
  • Required certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS, NIHSS, and ONS/ONCC; pending certifications will not be accepted
  • Chemo certification preferred but not required
  • Driver's license required for consideration (used to verify permanent address)
  • 2 professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months, and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire
  • Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility (permanent address verified via driver's license)
  • Candidates may not have been directly employed full-time, part-time, or PRN by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity-affiliated facility within the past year; candidates employed PRN through outside staffing firms will be considered

Additional Information

  • Responsibilities include caring for oncology and trauma PCU patients, performing hourly rounding, and administering and titrating drips as needed
  • Competencies in ventilator management and hemodynamic monitoring (CVP, A-line, Swan, EV-1000, ICP) are expected; training available in real time for these skills
  • Unit is supported by nursing assistants, a charge nurse, PT/OT, RN case manager, social work, educator, and a dietician

  • Navy blue scrubs required
  • Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care areas
  • RTO must be requested upfront; no more than 7 days per 13-week contract will be approved, and additional RTO will not be approved after submission
