Description
American Traveler is hiring an IR Technologist for a Vascular Interventional Radiology position in an acute care setting, requiring 2+ years of experience and active ARRT and BLS certifications.
Details
- Works in a dedicated IR department with 6 labs, pre-op, and Phase 2 recovery — separate from EP and Cath Lab
- Common patient population includes vascular, neuro, drains, and lines cases
- Average of 20–30 cases per day
- 4x9-hour day shifts per week
- Call requirements include weeknight call (7–9 shifts per 6 weeks), weekend call, and holiday call with a 30-minute response time
- No floating requirement outside of possible coverage between Cath Lab and IR
- Charting performed in Epic; Philips monitors used on the unit
- Charge RN is on shift from 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM and does not take a patient assignment
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of IR/Interventional Radiology Technologist experience
- Active ARRT and BLS certifications required — certifications must be active and not pending at time of consideration
- Active IL state license required, if applicable — pending licenses will not be accepted
- 2 professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, both including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire
- Candidates must be able to pass a drug screen; this is a drug-free campus
Additional Information
- Daily responsibilities include scrubbing, passing supplies, and setting up and breaking down procedure rooms
- Unit orientation is 3–5 days in the lab
- Scrubs are provided
- Epic experience is preferred given its use on the unit
- Local candidates are welcome; candidates with a permanent address within 50 miles of the facility may be subject to a local pay rate
- Holiday coverage is required
