Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced travel RN for an ER/ICC position at an oncology hospital, requiring 2 years of ER experience, prior travel experience, and Epic proficiency.
Details
- Position is based in the Emergency Department (ED) and an Immediate Care Center (ICC) of an oncology hospital
- The ICC is a unique unit serving hematology, oncology, and sickle cell patients presenting with both urgent and non-urgent conditions who are typically more stable than the standard ED population
- Common patient diagnoses include sickle cell crisis, fever, abdominal pain, uncontrolled pain, anemia, and nausea/vomiting/dehydration
- Most ICC patients are discharged home, though some are admitted; patients may arrive from radiation, infusion, or directly from home based on referrals from their primary team or oncologist
- Travelers will be required to float between the ICC and ED units as needed
- Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
- Epic EMR experience is required
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active OH or Compact RN license required
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
- Minimum 2 years of ER experience required
- Minimum 1 year of travel nursing experience required
- Epic EMR proficiency required
Additional Information
- The ICC is a smaller unit with a collaborative team environment and strong staff relationships, offering nurses the opportunity to build skills and patient relationships in a less acute setting
- No 30-day break between assignments is required when changing representation at this facility (except for Sterile Processing Techs)
- All RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted upfront for consideration
- 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years are required for consideration
- A full 7-year work history with all gaps explained is required for consideration
