Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cath Lab position in Alaska, requiring a minimum of 2 years of cardiac cath or interventional radiology experience and an active Alaska RN license.

Details

• Hospital-based Cardiac Cath Lab within the Cardiac Services department
• 4–6 room unit offering diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures, interventional radiology procedures, holding area procedures, and Imaging Department nursing care support
• Patients undergoing moderate sedation are a core part of the caseload
• Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM (8-hour day shifts, 5 days per 7-day work week)
• On-call required as needed
• Weekend work may be required depending on staffing needs
• Epic EMR used in this department

Requirements

• Active Alaska RN license required
• Current certifications required: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA upon hire), and PALS or ENPC (AHA within 6 months of hire)
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience in cardiac cath or interventional radiology, including experience with patients undergoing moderate sedation
• Demonstrated clinical competence in basic cardiac physiology/pathology and 12-lead EKG interpretation
• Experience with physiologic monitoring including intra-cardiac pressure waveform knowledge, pacemaker operations (implantable and external), and related cardiac care equipment
• Ability to operate radiographic equipment as assigned
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program
• 2 references required for consideration: 1 from a supervisor within the last 12 months of relevant experience, and 1 from a peer or supervisor in the position's specialty within the last 3 years

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include circulating, scrubbing, and hemodynamic monitoring duties across cardiac and interventional procedures, as well as pre-, intra-, and post-procedural patient care and instruction
• BSN preferred
• 4 or more years of cardiac cath and interventional radiology experience preferred
• New orientation includes a service partner orientation on the first day onsite followed by department and service-specific orientation; general staff attend a one-day orientation training
• Scrubs required
• This is a newly established service line at this facility
