Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg Float Pool position requiring Epic proficiency, BLS certification, and a GA or compact RN license.

Details

• Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
• Floating required to all MS and MS/Tele units within the hospital, with possible float to a sister campus approximately 3 miles away
• Adult to geriatric patient population with a full range of Med/Surg and Med/Surg Telemetry diagnoses
• Patient ratio of 1:5–6
• EMR: Epic (required); also uses Pyxis and SBAR
• Every other weekend required (approximately 6 weekends over a 13-week contract)
• No on-call requirements
• 12-week contract

Requirements

• Active GA or compact RN license required
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Epic EMR proficiency required
• Two supervisory references (manager level or above; charge nurse references not accepted) are highly preferred

• Local candidates are accepted
• Navy blue scrubs required
• RTO maximum of 7 days; RTO cannot be requested during the first week of the assignment
• RTO blackout period: Spring Break (April 4–12)
• Holiday coverage policy: if one or two major holidays fall within the assignment period, travelers are expected to work all of them with no holiday RTO; if three major holidays fall within the assignment period, travelers must work two, with one holiday RTO request eligible for review — Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
• No scheduling requests or alternate shifts will be accommodated; the listed day shift is firm
• Travelers must have been away from all facilities within this health system for at least one full year before returning as a traveler
• Full compliance must be completed prior to the start date; non-compliance may result in a two-week pushback due to a bi-weekly orientation schedule
