Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Oncology RN for a day-shift travel contract at a Level II Trauma Center, requiring chemotherapy certification and Epic proficiency.

Details

• Acute care hospital setting with 426 staffed beds, part of the Yale New Haven Health System
• Oncology unit with floating to other Med/Surg units as needed
• Day shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (0700–1930)
• Every other weekend required, with holiday coverage as needed
• Charting performed in Epic (experience required)
• Free parking available on-site

Requirements

• Active CT or Compact RN license required
• Current certifications required: BLS, NIHSS, and Chemotherapy (ONS or ONCC)
• Oncology nursing experience with chemotherapy administration required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Level II Trauma Center or comparable acute care hospital experience required
• Candidates must not have any priors on their nursing license
• Flu vaccine required; declinations are not accepted
• COVID vaccine required; religious and medical exemptions accepted
• 1 professional reference required for consideration

Additional Information

• Candidate must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates; local candidates are not eligible for this position
• Former permanent staff of this facility must have been separated for at least 2 years before being considered as a traveler
• Up to 7 days of RTO may be approved by the facility for this contract
• Royal blue scrubs required
• Travelers are expected to participate in natural disaster or emergency response activities as needed
