Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an LDRP (Labor, Delivery, Recovery & Postpartum) position with a valid WA or compact RN license and a minimum of one year of specialty nursing experience.

• Day shift schedule
• 13-week contract
• 36 hours per week
• Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP) unit in a hospital setting
• May be required to function as Charge Nurse, including patient assignment delegation, coordinating staff coverage, and serving as a unit lead

Requirements

• Active WA State RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
• BLS certification at the Healthcare Provider (HCP) level (AHA or equivalent)
• ACLS certification required (must be obtained within 6 months of hire if not already held)
• NRP Advanced (AAP) certification required prior to end of orientation
• AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring or NCC Electronic Fetal Monitoring certification required (must be obtained within 3 months of completing L&D training)
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience in a specialty nursing department preferred
• Acute care RN experience preferred
• Ability to perform physical demands of the role including frequent standing, walking, lifting up to 30 lbs independently, and assisting with patients weighing 60–300 lbs
• Ability to perform CPR and manage multiple pieces of equipment, tubes, and invasive lines during 8–12 hour shifts
• DOB and SSN may be required for consideration

Additional Information

• Responsible for assessment, planning, implementing, and evaluating care for assigned patients using the Nursing Process
• Functions in both direct caregiver and care manager roles, including delegation, coordination, and supervision of other caregivers
• Documents patient care via electronic medical records and/or paper processes per regulatory requirements
• STABLE course completion within 6 months of completing orientation is encouraged (optional)
• RN-C specialty certification preferred but not required
• Reports to the Nursing Department Director, House Supervisor, and Charge Nurse
• Works closely with physicians and interdisciplinary clinicians to ensure optimal patient outcomes
