Description

American Traveler is hiring an Interventional Radiology Technologist with 2-3 years of IR experience, including neuro-interventional procedure experience, for a high-acuity vascular IR setting.

Details

  • 2-lab IR department averaging 12-15 cases per day
  • Performs high-acuity peripheral vascular and neuro-interventional procedures including cerebral angiograms, thrombectomy, coiling, carotid stenting, biopsies, embolizations, nephrostomy tube insertions, vertebroplasty/kyphoplasty/sacroplasty, tunneled dialysis catheters, Medi-ports, lumbar drains, CAPD catheters, epidurals, and PEG tube insertions
  • Four 9-hour shifts per week (Mon–Fri as assigned), totaling 36 hours/week; daily hours rotate between 7:00 AM–4:30 PM, 7:30 AM–5:00 PM, or 8:00 AM–5:30 PM
  • Call required one day per week (5:30 PM–7:00 AM) and every 4th weekend (7:00 AM–7:00 PM); additional on-call shifts may be required to support coverage
  • Staff may be required to stay beyond their scheduled shift if more than one procedure room remains in operation at end of day
  • Epic EHR and PACS experience preferred
  • Local candidates are accepted

Requirements

  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience as an IR Tech
  • Neuro-interventional procedure experience required
  • Run-off and angiogram experience highly preferred
  • Prior travel experience preferred
  • ARRT certification and registration required
  • BLS (AHA) required
  • ACLS (AHA) preferred
  • ARRT CV or VI specialty certification preferred
  • Associate's degree from an ARRT-accredited institution preferred
  • Must be able to remain within 30 minutes of the facility on on-call days
  • Proof of address, 1 supervisory reference, copy of certifications, full SSN, and DOB required for consideration
  • License required if applicable

Additional Information

  • Assists licensed practitioners with fluoroscopic, interventional, and neuro-interventional procedures using sterile technique
  • Prepares, administers, and documents activities related to medications and radiation exposure in accordance with applicable laws and facility policy
  • Administers contrast via power injector as prescribed; assesses patients for contrast allergy risk and assists in managing adverse reactions
  • Verifies informed consent and completes pre-, peri-, and post-procedure documentation including timeouts
  • Adheres to radiation safety principles to minimize exposure to patients, self, and others
  • Pass/Fail EKG test administered on the first day with two attempts allowed; study guides will be provided
  • Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to qualify for the travel pay rate
