Description
American Traveler is seeking a licensed Physical Therapist for an outpatient position in Virginia, working 8-hour day shifts with a primary focus on general orthopedic and post-operative patients.
Details
- Outpatient setting with potential exposure to inpatient, pediatric, and off-site community locations
- Primary patient population includes general orthopedic and post-operative cases; adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients also treated
- 8-hour day shifts, 40 hours per week
- No weekend shifts required
- Local candidates are accepted
Requirements
- Current PT license in Virginia required; Ohio licensure noted in job description — license required if applicable
- Minimum Bachelor's degree from an accredited Physical Therapy program required; Doctorate preferred
- Current BLS/CPR certification required
- Experience evaluating and treating orthopedic and post-operative patient populations
- Ability to pass an EKG assessment (pass/fail, two attempts allowed; study materials provided)
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel pay rates
- Proof of address, full SSN, and DOB (MM/DD) required for consideration
- 1 supervisory reference required for consideration
- Copy of certifications required for consideration
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include evaluating, planning, and implementing individualized PT treatment programs in collaboration with the patient, family, and care team
- Duties include selecting and administering appropriate techniques, modalities, and interventions, and modifying plans based on patient response
- Discharge planning, patient and family education, and assistive equipment recommendations are part of the role
- Specialty certification (e.g., OCS, SCS, NDT, Lymphedema, Women's Health) is preferred but not required
- May act as a fitness/wellness instructor for community programs as needed
- Candidates are expected to participate in continuing education and competency reviews
- Manager interviews are conducted for this position
