Description

American Traveler is hiring a Radiologic Technologist for a night shift position requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience and ARRT(R) certification.

Details

• Acute care hospital radiology department performing diagnostic imaging procedures
• Procedures include diagnostic radiographic, portable, C-arm, and fluoroscopic exams
• Operates mobile radiologic equipment in the OR, ER, and at patient bedside
• Assists radiologist with fluoroscopic and special X-ray examinations
• Uses PACS and radiology information systems for image processing and physician submission
• 3x12-hour night shifts per week, 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM
• Rotating weekends and holiday coverage required

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Radiologic Technologist required
• Graduate of an accredited School of Radiologic Technology
• ARRT(R) registration required
• BLS/BCLS certification required
• IEMA-DNS radiography accreditation required if working in Illinois — license required if applicable
• Proficiency with PACS, radiology information systems, and diagnostic imaging equipment
• Experience with portable, C-arm, and fluoroscopic procedures

Additional Information

• Performs diagnostic radiographic studies applying ALARA principles for radiation protection of patients, self, and others
• Reviews patient clinical history and verifies appropriate orders and labs prior to procedures, consulting with radiologist as needed
• Prepares contrast media and assists in administration during fluoroscopic procedures
• Documents procedure details, medication reconciliation, and safety incidents in the electronic medical record
• Provides instruction and training to radiography students and new technologists
• Assists with patient transport and applies patient safety principles throughout all procedures
